I'm thinking about upgrading my graphics card to an RTX 3060 12GB. Right now, I have a Ryzen 5 5600 GT along with 32GB of 3200 MHz RAM. My main goal is to game at 1080p or maybe even 1440p. Do you guys think this combination would work well, or would the CPU bottleneck performance? Also, I'm curious if the RTX 3060 is still a worthwhile investment, or should I be looking at something newer?

Honestly, it's all about your expectations for FPS. If you're aiming for 1080p at 120Hz without DLSS, the 3060 might show its age in newer titles, but for less demanding games, you should be just fine!

Right! Just manage your expectations. For popular titles or less intensive games, it'll still deliver good performance.

The RTX 3060 12GB can handle most modern games at high settings in 1080p. However, if you're getting a used one, it’s only worth it if it’s half the price of a new RTX 4060. Newer cards will give you better performance for around the same price these days.

Exactly! If you can snag the 3060 at a great discount, it’s still a good choice for 1080p and decent for 1440p.

I upgraded to a more powerful card myself, but the 3060 still does fine in a lot of games if you're not aiming for ultra settings. It's all about what games you plan to play.

If you find the 3060 for a good price, go for it! It's still capable for 1080p gaming, but it might struggle a bit with the latest AAA titles at 1440p.

Yeah, if you're sticking to older games, the card will hold up pretty well, but newer titles can be demanding.

I think it’s a solid choice for 1080p gaming! Just make sure to check what you’re upgrading from. Are you going for a brand new card or looking at used options? That could make a difference in value!
