Is an RTX 5060 a good upgrade for my PC?

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card and I'm considering the RTX 5060. Currently, I'm using an old GT 730 with an i5-12400F processor and 16GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM. I usually game at 1080p and don't plan on moving to 1440p anytime soon. I need advice on whether the RTX 5060 will be a worthy upgrade or if I should consider other options.

Your i5-12400F should work perfectly fine with the RTX 5060. But, if you consider moving to 1440p gaming down the line, I'd encourage you to check out the RX 9060 XT with 16GB. It'll give you more headroom for higher resolutions and future games.

It really depends on the games you play. If you're into e-sports, the RTX 5060 is a solid choice. However, for narrative-driven titles like Red Dead and Spider-Man, the RX 9060 XT 8GB might be a better fit, as it's more powerful and usually around the same price. If you stretch your budget a little, the 16GB version of that card is probably the best bet for you!

Nah, I've had my fill of e-sports! Just want to enjoy some good stories without all the chaos.

Upgrading from a GT 730 to an RTX 5060 would be a huge jump! While 8GB of VRAM is decent, you might encounter some limitations in newer titles that demand more memory. But since you're coming from 4GB, you'll likely find it a substantial improvement. If you’re willing to spend a bit more, consider cards with 16GB of VRAM like the 9060XT—it could provide better longevity for your setup.

Thanks mate. I'll definitely think about those 16GB options too!
