I found a used RX 6800 XT for about $250 and am considering selling my RTX 4060 Ti 8GB to make the switch. I want to play newer games like Crimson Desert and RE9 at 1440p with good image quality, smooth frame rates, and reasonable temperatures. Would the 6800 XT be a worthwhile upgrade, and are there any drawbacks I should keep in mind? My power supply is rated at 750W.

Overall, I would make the switch if the 6800 XT is healthy and you do not specifically need stronger ray tracing or Nvidia-exclusive features. The extra VRAM and raw 1440p performance make it a much better fit for newer games than an 8GB 4060 Ti.
The main tradeoff is ray tracing. The 4060 Ti has better RT features and lower power consumption, while the 6800 XT is considerably faster in traditional rendering. The AMD card also uses more power and can run hotter, but a quality 750W power supply should generally be sufficient.
For 1440p, the RX 6800 XT is a clear performance upgrade over the RTX 4060 Ti 8GB. It has much stronger rasterized performance and 16GB of VRAM, which should help with newer, demanding games and higher-quality textures.
Expect roughly 70–75 FPS at 1440p high settings in a demanding game such as Crimson Desert, depending on the rest of the system and the final optimization. Temperature results will depend heavily on your case airflow and the specific card model.
