Is Anyone Else Struggling with Microsoft’s April Update and Signed RDP Files?

I'm curious if anyone else is dealing with the new warning messages that popped up after applying Microsoft's April update, especially if you're using RDP files regularly in your work environment. I know coding them can solve the issue, but it seems like a huge hassle. How's everyone planning to handle this? Any workarounds or long-term solutions?

I was blindsided by this change too! Where was the heads-up from Microsoft, right? They usually let enterprise users know in advance, but this time it seems we got nothing until the update dropped. It feels like they really need to step up their communication game!

That saying, "Move fast and break things," definitely rings true right now.

There was actually a message released the same day as the patches. Talk about minimal notice!

For those struggling with older systems and needing signed RDP files, I was able to sign a whole folder of them in about 20 minutes using PowerShell. Just got our certificate from the CA and pushed the thumbprint out via GPO—quick work!

Could you share the PowerShell lines you used? I’m facing a similar issue with signing.

If you’re looking to revert the warning dialogs, there’s a registry tweak you can try. Just open the Registry Editor, navigate to `HKLMSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftWindows NTTerminal ServicesClient` and set `RedirectionWarningDialogVersion` to 1. It worked for us, but keep in mind future updates might break it again.

We had a ton of calls coming in about this, so this registry fix really helped cut down the confusion.

Yes, we experienced issues with the dialog not rendering properly. This fix has been awesome.
