I'm looking to spend around $2000 AUD on a new PC, but I've got minimal experience with building them. I want to know if the performance I would get from building my own would be significantly better than what I could find in a prebuilt model at that price. Is it worth the effort of building it myself?

Building your own PC can often be cheaper than buying a prebuilt one, and it gives you the freedom to choose exactly the specifications you want. For a budget of 2K AUD, if you skip any fancy RGB components, you can really maximize power and speed. Just make sure to research well and gather all your parts ahead of time!
If you're building it yourself, you could potentially get an RTX 5080 and a Ryzen 7600 along with 32GB of RAM and a decent NVMe SSD for that budget. Finding the right deals and knowing where to source your parts is key here. If you're unsure about building, remember that you're essentially paying for someone else's expertise with prebuilt PCs.

That's true, but just keep in mind that with current component prices, sometimes prebuilt options can actually offer better deals, especially during sales.
