I'm putting together my first gaming PC and I'm considering using some 2x8GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX RAM that I can get from a friend at a good price. Initially, I aimed for an AM5 socket setup, but given the high prices for RAM, I'm leaning towards an AM4 socket that supports DDR4 instead. My current planned specs include a Ryzen 7 5800XT, an RTX 4060 (which I found for a good deal), and the Asus TUF B550 II motherboard. I also plan to pair it with the Aoc G4 Q27G42XE 27" 180 Hz QHD monitor. I'd love any feedback or recommendations on my RAM choice and overall build!

Considering your budget, going with DDR4 seems like a solid plan. It matches your needs perfectly and will keep you on track with costs. You’ll find that DDR4 RAM still performs well for gaming, and if your motherboard supports it, it’s a good option especially for the type of build you're putting together.

I thought about spending more for a card with 16GB VRAM, but that great deal on the RTX 4060 is hard to pass up, and I want to avoid spending €400 on 32GB of RAM.
