Is DDR5 RAM Compatibility Really an Issue?

I'm thinking about building a new PC with the B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard and a Ryzen 7 7700X or 9700X processor. I'm eyeing the KLEVV CRAS V RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz RAM. However, when I checked the memory compatibility list on Gigabyte's website, I couldn't find this RAM model or the popular CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 either. This leaves me wondering if the compatibility list is outdated. Can I still expect both the KLEVV and CORSAIR models to work, even if they're not on the list? Will they run at their OC speeds?

Yeah, they can't test every RAM kit with every motherboard. Generally, most DDR5 RAM will run fine even if it's not on the compatibility list. For Ryzen 7000/8000/9000 series, a speed of 6000MHz with lower CAS latency like CL28 or CL30 is the sweet spot, but higher speeds may work too with some risk.

So, if I enable XMP or XPO for overclocking, I should be okay, right?

The manufacturer's compatibility list is based on what they've specifically tested. They can't verify every single RAM kit available. So, even if your DDR5 RAM isn't listed, it will likely still work without issues.
