Is DevOps a Good Career Choice?

I'm currently working as a QA and set to graduate with my bachelor's in September 2026. I'm considering DevOps as my next career move and may even pursue further studies abroad. I'm curious about how promising a career in DevOps really is, how challenging it is to reach an advanced level, and what the market looks like for DevOps internships. Any insights or advice would be appreciated!

DevOps is a pretty solid career choice right now! There’s a high demand in the job market, which means better job security. If you’re more inclined towards tech rather than just front-end stuff, it can be super exciting, especially if you land a role focused on infrastructure, tooling, and solving real problems instead of just dealing with CI pipelines and YAML files. On the flip side, be prepared for on-call duty and some stress, especially with tasks like production database migrations. As for what you need to know, coding skills (Golang is a plus), Linux, familiarity with containerization and Kubernetes, and experience with at least one cloud provider like AWS are essential. It can be tough to reach a high level, but if you're genuinely interested and ready to put in the effort, you'll find it rewarding!

What about AI's impact on DevOps roles? Do you think it will change the landscape significantly?

Thanks for sharing! I'll definitely keep my eye on those skills as I prepare for the transition.
