Is Docker Desktop Slow on Windows for Everyone?

I'm reaching out to see if anyone else is experiencing issues with Docker Desktop on Windows, specifically on my Dell Inspiron 16 Plus running Windows 11. I've re-installed the app, but I'm still having a hard time with it. Here are my main problems:

1. It takes a long time to open when I click the executable.
2. When I pin it to my taskbar, it won't start from there—unlike all my other apps. I have to click the desktop icon or use the search function to get it open.
3. The biggest issue is that everything takes ages to load. For example, when I try to access Models or the MCP (BETA), I just get a spinning wheel and then an error message.
4. Lastly, logging in is such a hassle; it works sometimes but fails most of the time.

I might just be venting, as mental health is important, but I really want to know if it's just my laptop acting up or if I missed some settings. Are others dealing with similar frustrations?

Honestly, Docker Desktop can be a pain. A lot of people in the community have complained about it. If possible, you might want to consider setting up a Linux VM in VirtualBox instead. It's a more reliable way to run Docker.

True, but I’d say it's easier and faster to just install the daemon and CLI in WSL. Using a full VM can eat up a lot of resources!

I feel you! I've run into similar problems. For me, I have to end the Docker Desktop background processes for it to start properly. A workaround I've found is to just leave it open; closing it seems to cause more issues.

Have you considered switching to Linux? It usually runs Docker way better and could save you from these issues.
