I've had my PC since 2019, and while it's still functioning, I'm starting to wonder how much longer it can last. This was my first build, and now that it's nearly 7 years old, I'm considering whether to upgrade some parts or just build a completely new system. I'm concerned about current RAM prices and opportunity costs, as I have some funds set aside but know prices could go up if I wait. Any advice on whether upgrading is worthwhile or if I should just go for a new system? Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 32 GB DDR4-3200, MSI ARMOR GeForce RTX 2070, and a Corsair RM750x 750W power supply.

Honestly, your system is not bad at all! Upgrading to a 5600X or even a bit higher with a decent GPU could easily last another 3-4 years. Save up for new parts like DDR5 RAM and a new motherboard when you can. As for your current GPU, it can still handle most tasks pretty well right now!
Just curious, do you have a budget in mind? It plays a huge role in deciding how to move forward with upgrades or a new build.
Upgrading to a Ryzen 5000 series CPU, like the 5700X or possibly an 5800X, along with a better GPU could really enhance your current setup. It’s all about balancing what you want to spend versus how much you want to improve your performance. Let us know your budget for more specific recommendations!
I have about $2,500 to work with.
With RAM prices being what they are, you could solely focus on upgrading to a 5000 series CPU and finding a newer GPU; there are a lot of options to choose from. I'm currently running a 5700X with a 7800XT, and it's treating me well. Just make sure to get something that gives you a solid boost without breaking the bank!
If you’re considering upgrades, I’d suggest going for a 5700X with a new 9070 XT or even the 5070 TI without going over $2500. You can maximize your current system’s potential without ditching everything, plus it lets you save up for a more comprehensive new build down the line if needed!

Around $2,500...ish.
