I'm currently using an RX 6600 graphics card with an Intel i5 10th generation processor and an Intel H510-A motherboard. I'm trying to play games at 1440p resolution, but I'm experiencing lag and freezing in some titles. I'm unsure whether I should prioritize upgrading my CPU and motherboard or my GPU to enhance my gaming experience.

Your current setup isn't the best for 1440p gaming, unfortunately. I recommend turning down some graphics settings and trying upscaling methods for the time being. After that, definitely upgrade to a better GPU to enhance performance more significantly.

For gaming, I’d say upgrade your GPU. What’s your RAM like? A good amount of RAM can make a difference, too.

You should focus on upgrading your GPU first. The RX 6600 is more suited for 1080p gaming and may struggle at 1440p. Improving your graphics card will likely give you a better overall performance boost. Just to clarify, when you say ‘laggy’, are you referring to low FPS? That’s probably what you’re experiencing at that resolution.

Yeah, that motherboard is pretty basic and can’t handle overclocking. Your GPU would likely perform much better in a stronger system. In this case, definitely go for a new GPU first.
