I recently built a new PC with 16GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5200MHz, but I'm noticing that about 32% of my RAM is being used even when I'm not running any heavy applications. While I was writing this post, my RAM usage spiked to around 6.1GB. The biggest culprits seem to be Firefox using 1GB, an anti-malware program at 150MB, and a few widgets taking up small amounts of memory. I'm a bit confused as to why my total RAM usage is so high when I have hardly any apps open. Should I be concerned about this?

Totally typical! I run a Linux server with 64GB and often see around 10GB actively used, while the rest is utilized for caching. The system automatically allocates memory when new processes need it by clearing some cache, so no need to stress!
Completely normal. I manage a lot of systems, and RAM usage can vary quite a bit based on what’s running in the background. For basic browsing and light use, your 16GB is actually a solid amount. If you're gaming, consider upgrading later, but for now, 16GB is fine.
I’ve got 64GB in my system, and I see about half being used most of the time. It’s just how Windows manages memory, really. It's nothing to worry about!
It's actually pretty normal for your RAM usage to be around that level. Windows tends to use RAM for caching to speed things up, so unused RAM is considered wasted RAM. When you start up a game or heavy program, Windows will allocate additional RAM as needed, freeing up any cached memory if necessary.
