I'm currently installing Nobara and I only have an external drive that my grandfather gave me. Will this be sufficient for the installation process, or should I be concerned about performance or compatibility?

Yeah, external drives are pretty much on par with internal ones for installs. Just ensure you have the right connections and enough storage!
If you've got the space, using an external drive should work without any issues. Just keep in mind that it might not be as fast as an internal drive. So, performance could be a little off depending on what type of drive you're using. But overall, you should be fine!
Definitely! I've been booting from external drives for years now—it's just like using a live USB. Whether it's an HDD, SSD, or USB stick, it can totally work, just depends on what you've got.
Just be cautious with the type of external drive you’re using. If it’s a cheap USB drive, that could slow things down a lot compared to something like an ESATA drive.

Do you happen to know if it's an SSD or HDD? That could make a big difference in performance!
