I'm working in an ecommerce business and encountered a strange issue while printing product labels. I intended to print 50 labels, but somehow ended up with 51. Two of us have double-checked the count multiple times, and we assure you that we're not under the influence of anything. I initially thought I might have mistakenly entered the wrong number, but I find it hard to believe since the zero and one keys on my keyboard are quite far apart. This isn't a batch process; I just did a simple 'Ctrl P', entered the number of copies, and hit Enter. One of my coworkers suggested not to worry, but I really need to trust that the printer does what it's supposed to do. Am I just overthinking this?

It sounds like your printer setup might be a bit of a 'dumb printer' rather than a 'smart printer'. With dumb printers, the computer processes the data and can sometimes miscommunicate how many copies to print, especially if something goes wrong during the transmission. It’s like when you try to make multiple copies on an old copier vs. a modern digital one. I’d recommend printing a test of fewer copies, like 49, to see if it still gives you a weird count.
Yeah, my printer's pretty old too, and I wonder if it's a similar case. I never had an issue before this, but I always counted items before printing, unlike this time.
