Hey folks, I'm having some trouble with my Arch Linux setup. My drive is acting up and won't boot properly, but I can still see all my data. I'm wondering if I can just copy everything to a new installation and overwrite it, would that make my applications work fine? Or do I need to be more careful and manually copy specific files?

In theory, yes! But it’s tricky because if you copy everything over, you might end up bringing the same issues to your new installation. You need to be selective about which files you copy.
You might want to consider fixing your boot issue instead. Copying things blindly can end up causing more problems if the original installation had some underlying issues!
I think I might have only messed up a different partition, so the files I copied could still be good.
