Is it possible to build a solid gaming PC for under $1000?

I'm looking to build a decent gaming computer for around $1000. I'm okay with playing games on low graphics if it means I get decent frame rates. I want to join my friends in whatever games they're playing, but I want to make sure I don't end up with the wrong components. I do have a CPU cooler, a Corsair H150i water cooler, that I could use to save some money. Any tips or guidance on whether this budget can actually get me a functional gaming setup would be really appreciated!

Absolutely, you can definitely build a solid setup for $1000! At this price, you should be able to manage high settings at 1080p, and possibly even dabble in 1440p for less demanding games. Just make sure you're clear on which games you want to play and check if there's a nearby store like Micro Center for good deals on parts.

Yeah, if $1000 is just for the PC, you can maximize value by buying used parts. Just ensure to get a decent GPU for gaming; that tends to be the most important component.
