I'm not a web developer but I do some video editing as a marketer, and I'm facing a challenge with a client's website. They need a series of short video clips, but the web developer said each file must be under 5 KB. I've tried compressing with Adobe Media Encoder but the smallest size I can achieve is around 1 MB, which is way beyond their limit. I understand the importance of quality, but I need to know if getting a video down to 5 KB is even feasible. Am I being given an impossible task, or is there a trick to achieving this? Any insights would be appreciated!

Getting a video down to 5 KB is totally unrealistic. Just for reference, even a minimal MP4 file is usually around 3-6 KB, and that’s without any actual video content. You might want to clarify this with the developer.
5 KB is practically nothing—it's like 0.0005 seconds of video at standard 1080p! There's definitely a misunderstanding here. They probably meant 5 MB instead.
Exactly! It’s worth checking with them to see if they can provide more clarification or examples of what they expect.
I would say this is an impossible task unless they meant 5 MB. Even just compressing a single image down to 5 KB is a challenge!
It's likely that there's been a mix-up with the size. 5 KB seems incredibly low for a video file. Are you sure the developer meant 5 MB?
Yeah, even a really small video wouldn't fit into 5 KB. It's basically impossible.

Thanks for confirming that! I'll definitely ask the developer for a clarification.
