Is It Possible to Go Back to GNOME 48?

I just updated to GNOME 49 but I'm not really feeling it. Most of my favorite extensions aren't working, and they play a big role in my workflow. I'm currently using EndeavourOS with kernel 6.16.0-arch2-1, and I installed GNOME following some instructions I found online. I'm wondering, is there a straightforward way to revert back to GNOME 48? Could I just comment out a line in my /etc/pacman.conf and use pacman to update?

To revert to GNOME 48, you might want to remove the repository, uninstall GNOME, and then install the older version. Alternatively, you could downgrade the packages, which is another method you could find on the Arch Wiki. That might be more convenient in some cases.

I hear you! If I knew how to fix extensions, I'd be all over that. But yeah, I wouldn't recommend Plasma; it's just too buggy for my taste. I primarily need clipboard history and app icons on my taskbar—nothing too fancy. Let’s hope the extensions you need get updated soon!

Honestly, it might be better to fix your extensions instead of downgrading. You could contribute by sending a patch to the extension developers. If you're looking for installation instructions, check out the Arch Wiki for GNOME next time — it's super helpful! Also, consider switching to Plasma; it has a lot of built-in features that might prevent these extension issues from happening.
