Is it safe for a phone store employee to take a photo of my E-SIM details?

Today, I visited a mobile provider's store to set up a new payment plan and get an E-SIM. Everything went well until I noticed that the clerk took a photo of my E-SIM details, including the QR code, E-PIN, PIN, and PUK, with his iPhone. I was taken aback, so I asked him why he did that. He claimed he needed the information to 'fill out a form in his portal later on' and added that if he wanted to misuse my information, he already had enough from my ID copy. His manager supported him. Now I'm really confused—why would he need to store such sensitive information on his phone? I'm not tech-savvy, so I'm wondering if this could be a security issue. I haven't activated the E-SIM yet as a precaution. What do you guys think?

Honestly, I don’t think it’s a huge deal. Many mobile providers still use older systems that require them to double-check info, and taking a quick pic might seem like a convenient way to do it for them. It’s similar to how some shops take photos of IDs for verification, especially in travel or airport settings.

That’s true! I didn’t know they did that in other places too. I guess they might just have their own practices.
