Is it safe to buy things on my phone after using public Wi-Fi?

I've been staying at a motel and using their public Wi-Fi with a VPN. Now I need to make a purchase on my phone. If I switch to using my mobile data instead of the public Wi-Fi, will that keep me safe for shopping? I'm not very tech-savvy, so I hope this makes sense!

Honestly, if you're using a secure website (look for URLs that start with https), you’re already well protected. The idea that public Wi-Fi is super dangerous is a bit exaggerated. As long as you're being cautious about your logs and sites, you should be good to go!

Public Wi-Fi can be risky, but if you're careful, encryption keeps most transactions private. Just remember, even when you're not on Wi-Fi anymore, you can shop securely with your data. The big thing is making sure the service you’re using is secure, like Steam or any site that requires personal info.

Yeah, switching to your mobile data should be totally fine for making purchases. Using a VPN is great, but if you switch to your own data, it's likely safe because it's much harder for anyone to snoop on your transactions. Most websites use encryption to protect your info, especially during purchases.
