Hey everyone! I'm a complete novice and I'm about to put together my first PC using parts I found on PCPartPicker. I noticed that the PCIe5 port is quite close to the CPU heatsink, which is pretty oversized. I'm worried that having the GPU so close might cause overheating issues. Should I get a smaller cooler instead? Or would it be better to use the PCIe3 slot that's further away, even though that might reduce performance by about 5%? Also, I'm concerned about airflow since my case has a horizontal airflow that aligns with the heatsink, while the GPU is facing downwards. Any tips on how to optimize this setup?

No worries about the GPU being close to the CPU heatsink! It won't cause major problems. Your beefy cooler should handle the heat just fine, even with some airflow from the GPU.
