I recently set up Ubuntu 22.04 to dual boot alongside Windows 11, following a tutorial that advised me to disable secure boot. Now I'm interested in playing the Battlefield 6 Open Beta, which requires secure boot to be turned back on. However, I've heard some horror stories about people experiencing bricked PCs after re-enabling secure boot, which has made me apprehensive. Since I haven't used Ubuntu yet, is it really safe to turn secure boot back on?

Honestly, it's worth questioning why you went for an older version like Ubuntu 22.04 when the latest LTS is 24.04. Third-party guides can often be outdated, so I recommend checking out Ubuntu's official documentation. If you're just starting out, it might be a good idea to switch to 24.04 instead—it's more secure and supports secure boot right out of the box. Just create a bootable USB and you'll be set!

I picked 22.04 because I'm part of a robotics team at my uni that uses Ubuntu 22.04 for ROS 2 Humble.
