Is it safe to upgrade the BIOS to the latest version for my motherboard?

Hey everyone! I've got an Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS motherboard, and I'm planning to upgrade from my Ryzen 5 3600X to a Ryzen 9 5900X to maximize performance on the AM4 platform. I've found out that I need to update my BIOS to at least version 2607, which was released in August 2020, but there are several newer versions available. I'm wondering if there's any risk in updating to the latest BIOS version from April 2025, or if it would be better to just stick with the minimum required one. Thanks for your input!

I'd recommend just going for the newest BIOS version. It usually includes important fixes and improvements. Just make sure to double-check the release notes to see if anything specific might affect your setup!

Thanks for the tip! Is there any harm in doing the update now while I'm still using the 3600X, or should I wait until the 5900X is installed?
