Hey everyone! I just got my hands on a new RTX 5070 TI, and I'm super excited to upgrade from my RX 7700 XT! However, I'm a bit concerned about my current power supply. I've been using an EVGA Supernova 650GT (650 watts) for about a year and a half. My plan is to upgrade to a Corsair RM850x later, but I'm wondering if I should go ahead and install the 5070 TI right now. According to PCPartPicker, my setup will draw around 476 watts, which gives me some headroom, but I'm not sure how reliable those calculations are. Newegg's PSU calculator suggests a minimum of 500-599 watts. Plus, the Supernova 650GT is rated a B- on the PSU tier list, which makes me a little uneasy. Since I mostly use my PC for gaming on weekends (about 5-8 hours a week), do you think it's a bad idea to run the new card with this power supply for about a month until I can upgrade? Here's my full build for reference: Ryzen 5 7600 CPU, Gigabyte B650M D3HP motherboard, 2x16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM, a 2TB WD Black SSD, and a Noctua CPU cooler with 4 Lian Li fans. Would love to hear your thoughts!

You're within your PSU's limits. If you’ve had no issues in the past, I wouldn't stress too much about it. Just keep in mind that while the tier list says B-, many consider it decent. 750W is the recommended minimum, but you might be okay as long as you monitor it for stability issues.
With an estimated draw of 476W, you've got about 150W of headroom, which seems okay. I don’t see it being a major issue for you in the short term!
Totally understand the hesitation. I want to use my new GPU too, but I’m worried about damaging it since Nvidia says 750W minimum. I haven't had issues with my AMD card but I'm just nervous with this shiny new one!
