I bought my 750W Seasonic power supply back in 2020, but I've noticed that power requirements for GPUs have changed since then. I'm wondering if it's safe to use the built-in pigtail connector on my power supply to power the Sapphire Pulse 9070XT. Or should I use my last 6x2 slot to run another cable to it instead? I'm checking this because I'd need to buy an additional cable if necessary. Thanks for your help!

I’d definitely recommend using individual cables to power your 9070XT. These cards can pull over 300 watts, and transient spikes are something to keep in mind too.
Honestly, a replacement cable only costs about 10 bucks. If you're even slightly concerned, just buy it! I could share all the technical specs about cable gauges and power draw, but really, if you're worried, it's worth the small investment. Just so you know, my 3080TI has been using pigtails without issues since 2021!
If I recall correctly, a PCIe cable typically delivers 150 watts, and with the x16 slot providing an extra 75 watts, it might not be enough for your GPU's needs.

Haha, good to know! I think I'll play it safe and go with the extra PCIe slot instead of risking it with the pigtail.
