Why is my GPU only using 30-50% and I’m stuck at 110-140 FPS in Delta Force?

Hey folks! I'm dealing with a frustrating performance issue in Delta Force and could use your advice. Here are my specs:

- CPU: i5-14400F
- GPU: RTX 3080
- RAM: 16GB (single channel)
- Resolution: 1080p

Despite adjusting my graphics settings from Low to High, my FPS remains locked around 110-140. The gameplay is smooth, but it doesn't go beyond this range. Here's what I've noticed:
- GPU usage is only 30-50%.
- Changing settings doesn't impact FPS.
- There's no major stuttering, just a consistent FPS cap.

I'm wondering if:
1. This is normal for Delta Force?
2. Single-channel RAM could limit my FPS?
3. Upgrading to dual-channel RAM would provide a significant boost?
4. Is this mainly a CPU bottleneck?

Would love to hear any insights or if anyone else has experienced this issue! Thanks!

Yeah, you're definitely hitting limits with that single-channel RAM. It's leaving a good amount of performance on the table. You might be losing about 20-40% efficiency without dual-channel setup.

It's a good point, but remember that lowering graphical settings won't magically solve the frame rate issues if the GPU isn't being fully utilized.

Have you switched off VSync? I faced the same issue playing Delta Force with the same GPU, and disabling VSync helped. Also, going dual-channel RAM made a big difference for me.

Yes, I already turned off VSync, no change unfortunately.

The major issue here looks like your single-channel RAM. It's significantly restricting data flow to your CPU. Plus, Delta Force is poorly optimized and quite CPU-heavy. Upgrading to dual-channel should help, but keep in mind you might still find yourself CPU-limited.

If you're seeing low GPU usage along with low FPS, that's a classic sign of a CPU bottleneck. Even if it's not obvious in core usage, having low GPU performance usually leads back to the CPU struggling to keep up, especially if you're using just one stick of RAM.

What type of RAM are you using, DDR4 or DDR5? Either way, single-channel is definitely contributing to the FPS issue. Upgrading to dual-channel would be beneficial, especially with DDR4.

I'm using DDR4, thanks for the heads up!

Checking your CPU usage per core in Task Manager might give you some clues about what's going on. If your CPU is maxing out while your GPU isn't, that's a solid indicator of a bottleneck.

My CPU is running about 75-80% when gaming.
