I've recently upgraded to an ASUS Prime 5070 Ti and I'm using my Corsair HX750 power supply. The issue is that I'm short one PCIe cable for my graphics card, which has three female PCIe connectors leading to the PSU. I'm wondering if I can use a pigtail to connect one of these cables instead. Is that a bad idea? Additionally, I do have a Corsair SF1000 that could work, but I was planning to return it since my HX750 seems sufficient. Should I reconsider and buy the new PSU?

How many 8-pin connectors does your 5070 Ti require, and how many PCIe cables do you have left on your PSU?
Using a pigtail should be just fine! They’re designed for this kind of situation. Just make sure the PSU can handle the load you're putting on it, and you should be good to go.
I thought it was best to avoid using pigtail cables for GPUs, as they say separate cables are recommended. Correct me if I’m wrong.
That was my original concern too, but it seems pigtails can work if used properly. Just make sure everything is within specs.
Yeah, it’s fine to use the pigtail. That’s what they’re made for. Just check that your setup is stable once you’ve got it connected.

The 5070 Ti has 3 connectors, and I have 4 PCIe cables in total. Two are used for the CPU, leaving me with two for the GPU—hence, I'll need to use a pigtail for one.
