Is It Smart to Upgrade From GTX 750 Ti to RX 580 with My Old CPU?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card from a GTX 750 Ti to an RX 580. However, I'm using a pretty old CPU, the Core i5 3470. I'm worried that it'll bottleneck the new GPU, but I mostly play single-player games that are more GPU-intensive. I'm thinking of upgrading the GPU now and then the CPU later. Do you think this is a good idea, or should I wait to upgrade both?

The bottleneck shouldn't be terrible, so go ahead and grab the RX 580 now! If you pair it with a proper 16GB dual-channel RAM setup, you should see decent performance. Honestly, I'd recommend looking into a 1070 if you can find one. The performance is nice and it might be a better option overall.

It's not so available in my area, but if I find one in good condition and for a decent price, I will definitely consider it.

If you're thinking about future-proofing, getting something like an Intel B580 would be a better move, but it depends on the pricing for you.

No, I’ve heard Intel has a massive CPU overhead.
