Is it smart to wait before buying an SSD?

I'm not in a hurry to get an SSD, but I want to make sure I'm not waiting excessively long, like 2-3 years. Do you think there's a good chance prices will drop in the next 6-12 months?

Prices are likely to remain high for a while, so if you’re thinking about it, you might want to consider buying sooner rather than later.

If you really need an SSD, just go for it now. Look for options with QLC technology since they generally last longer. Just a heads up, the RAM supply seems locked in until 2026 or 2027, so prices might be stagnant for a bit.

Are you talking about TLC instead of QLC? Just checking!

Honestly, it’s tough to predict. The current market doesn't show signs of prices dropping much in the next half year, so it could be a while before you find a deal.

Historically, prices tend to stabilize after spikes. Like last year with graphics cards, prices have come down on them significantly. So, there's a possibility it could happen with SSDs too.
