Hey everyone! I'm in the market for a new CPU because my current one, the 13700k, has been acting up with issues like game crashes, random freezing, and full system black screens. I finally updated the BIOS, which helped for a bit, but the problems are back. I'm considering switching to AMD since I've heard they're faster and more reliable. I'm looking at the 9800x3d and the 9950x3d. The 9950 is about $200-300 more and seems to have better performance for things like Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. My export times are decent now, and while I wouldn't mind them slowing down a little, I'm unsure if the 9950 would be worth the extra cash. Do you think the performance difference is significant for what I do, especially since I game more than I edit?

If you're having so many issues with your current CPU, I get wanting to switch. But before buying a new one, maybe consider doing an RMA for the 13700k and ensuring everything's up to date afterwards; it might save you some cash!
How many hours a week do you spend on Lightroom and other Adobe tools? That could help determine which CPU might be best for your needs.
If you’re doing a lot of multi-threaded work, then the 9950 could be worth it! Just think about how often you really need that extra performance versus the price increase. If you’re mostly dabbling and not in a hurry, you might find the 9800 fits just fine.
Editing is more of a hobby for me; I actually do a lot on my phone. I game way more than I edit, which makes me hesitant about spending more.
Sounds like a good idea, but I doubt I can get a replacement since I bought it used.
