Hey folks! I'm currently running a build with an RTX 5070 Ti and a 5800X3D CPU (which I bought back in January 2023). My GPU usage is around 92%, and in some optimized games, it can hit 97%. I'm playing at 2560x1440 on a 240Hz monitor. I'm curious if I should consider upgrading to an AM5 setup, like a 9800X3D or 7800X3D, or if my current setup is still solid. Thanks!

It really boils down to how satisfied you are with current performance. If you think you can wait until AM6 is out, then holding off might be a smart move. The 5800X3D paired with the 5070 Ti should still be fine for a few years, especially if you don’t hit any performance issues.
It's also worth considering the type of games you play. Nvidia cards do have a bit more CPU overhead. If you aren't feeling any performance dips, just stick with what you have for now. A major upgrade should be when you really feel bottlenecked or the next big leap in performance comes around.
So you're seeing 92% GPU usage? That sounds pretty decent! But honestly, if you're happy with how your games are running, I don't see a big reason to upgrade just yet. Keep in mind, some games can get CPU bound, but a lot won’t be. If you're consistently enjoying performance at 1440p, your 5800X3D should hold you over for a bit. Just ask yourself if you really need that extra performance right now.
Yeah, I feel the same way! If you're not struggling at all, it might be better to wait and see what AM6 brings.
Agreed! Plus, prices tend to drop when new tech rolls out, so you could score a better deal later.
