Is it time to upgrade from my old Chromebook?

I'm currently using an old Chromebook that no longer receives updates, which is causing some websites to function poorly. Although these websites aren't ones I frequently visit, I'm beginning to wonder if it's time to replace it. I primarily use the Chromebook for most tasks, but I also rely on the family PC for more demanding activities, like gaming. Is it worth it to invest in a new laptop?

It really depends on your budget and how you plan to use it. If you're looking to use a laptop as your main computer and for gaming, it sounds like it’s worth investing in a new one. If you’re on a tight budget, maybe consider waiting until you can afford something decent instead of spending on a low-end model.

Instead of ditching the Chromebook, you could consider installing a new OS on it. Some users have had success running an emulator or a lightweight Linux distribution. But if you're serious about gaming, a new laptop, especially one with an AMD Ryzen processor, might be the better route.

Chromebooks are usually pretty cheap, so yeah, I’d recommend replacing yours with a newer model! Just keep an eye out for good deals on 2025 models that fit your needs.
