I'm currently running an Intel i5-14600KF with an ASRock Z790 Pro RS/D4 motherboard, a Gigabyte RTX 4060 GPU, and 32GB of DDR4 3600 RAM. My main gaming experience involves running lower intensity or older titles like REPO and Civ 6, but I recently started playing some newer games like Arc Raiders and Helldivers 2, which have been dropping my FPS on my 1440p 144Hz monitor. I'm considering upgrading to a 4K 240Hz OLED display, but I realize I may need to enhance my setup to support that. I feel a bit out of touch with the latest PC upgrades and would appreciate any advice on what I should focus on. Also, is my current build still decent? My power supply is a Corsair RM650, and I'm looking to keep my budget between $500 to $1000.

If you're gaming at 1440p, the first thing I'd suggest is upgrading your GPU. The RTX 4060 is decent but might struggle with newer titles at higher settings. If you can swing it, something like a 4070 or even a 4070 Ti could give you a nice bump in performance without breaking the bank. Just make sure your current setup can support it!
Honestly, sticking to a GPU upgrade is probably your best bet if you're feeling like the graphics aren't quite cutting it. If you're looking at 40 or 50 series cards, that should help with higher refresh rates too. Just keep in mind you won't get much more out of the system without considering a full rebuild.
Good point! A higher-end GPU might be good for supporting a 240Hz monitor.
I'd say go for a new GPU. Depending on your PSU, a 5070 or 9070 could work. Just be wary that those might push your PSU to its limits, so you might need to consider an upgrade there too if you're planning to dive into high refresh rates.
Thanks for the heads up! I just updated my PSU details in the main post.

That sounds like a solid plan. I think a 4070 would definitely help maintain higher FPS on those newer games.
