I'm considering whether I should upgrade my PC that's a bit over three years old. I built it in 2020 and I'm looking for ways to improve my gaming experience, especially for titles like Arma Reforger. What specifications should I focus on to achieve more consistent FPS with better graphics? Here are my current specs: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, AMD Ryzen 5 3600, ASUS AM4 X570-Plus motherboard, and 16GB of RAM. If you need any more details, just let me know!

If you're gaming at 1080p, your current system is still pretty solid. If you're aiming for higher resolutions, I suggest getting a Ryzen 5700X and a newer graphics card like the 6700 XT or 4070. It'll make a noticeable difference.

You might need a serious CPU upgrade soon. If you want longevity, go for something like the Ryzen 5800X and pair it with a more powerful graphics card. This will keep your rig running smoothly for the next few years!

Your setup isn't necessarily outdated yet, but if you're considering an upgrade, it'll help to know your budget. What are you looking to spend? Also, what's the wattage on your power supply? That could impact your upgrade options for newer components!

My budget would be around 1500-2000 CAD. I haven’t checked the prices yet. My PSU is a 750W power supply.

I recommend updating the BIOS and prioritizing a CPU upgrade if you want higher FPS. Look into the Ryzen models like 5600X or even 5800X. For better visuals, a GPU like the 4060 Ti or similar would also be a great choice. Plus, it should work fine with your PSU!

But honestly, if you're going to spend money on just one upgrade, a new GPU should give you the most significant FPS boost compared to just getting a new CPU.

For 1080p gaming, there's no urgent need to upgrade just yet. However, if you're looking to go for 1440p, consider the 5800X and a better GPU to future-proof your build.
