Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a dilemma about whether I should upgrade my GPU from an RTX 4060 and if so, to which model. I've been looking at options like the RTX 4070, 4070 Ti or maybe even waiting for the 5070. My current specs are: GPU - RTX 4060, CPU - Ryzen 7 5700X, RAM - 16 GB (2x8GB), Motherboard - B550, and I use a 750W power supply. I mainly use my computer for gaming, photo editing, and some study-related tasks like Excel and stats programs, all on a 100hz 1440p monitor. I'd appreciate any insights on whether I should upgrade now or hold off for a better option, especially in terms of performance and potential RAM upgrades. Thanks for your help!

Honestly, I don't think upgrading now is necessary. If you're experiencing freezes and crashes, that could be a more pressing issue. Have you tried troubleshooting those problems? If you're aiming for better performance, a 5060 Ti could work well with your 1440p monitor, but keep an eye on prices before deciding.

Sometimes I do face issues like that, where everything freezes, and I have to restart. I'd really like it to run smoother.

I'd suggest focusing on getting more RAM first since that could significantly improve your performance for what you're doing, especially for multitasking. But you might want to avoid waiting too long for prices to drop—they could continue to rise instead. Also, keep an eye out for good deals on GPUs to see if anything better comes along soon!

Thanks for pointing that out! I’ll look into upgrading my RAM soon.

It sounds like you're not entirely sure about your reasons to upgrade. Are you worried about future price hikes or just looking for a performance boost? If you’re not having major performance problems, it might not be worth it yet. Consider holding out for the 50 series or a higher option for a more significant performance upgrade.

Yeah, I’m just seeking better performance overall.
