Is it worth changing my network’s main IP address for better security or speed?

I've been wondering if changing my network's main IP address could boost my security and speed. Currently, it's set to 192.168.0.X, which seems like it could attract unwanted attention from potential attackers. Am I being overly paranoid? I remember switching to a different subnet once before to resolve some issues, but I'm not sure if it made any real difference.

Changing your internal IP range might sound like it would help, but it honestly won’t do much for your network performance or security. Just stick with what's working unless you have specific issues like IP conflicts with your modem. Stay safe!

If you're not experiencing any IP conflicts, then there's no need to change it. I think you might be overthinking it! Just keep everything updated and secure, and you should be good. But if it makes you feel better, go ahead, just be prepared to log back into all your devices.

Honestly, changing your internal network's IP address is pretty pointless. Your internal network, like 192.168.0.X, isn't visible on the internet, so it won't protect you from hackers. If someone breaches your network, they won't be looking specifically for those addresses anyway. Just focus on securing your router and devices instead.

Your public IP is what really matters for security. Changing your local IP won't change how hackers find you. If you aren't facing IP conflicts, there's really no benefit to changing it. Just make sure your router is properly secured and you’ll be fine.

Switching subnets won’t impact your security or speed at all. Those 192.168.x.x IPs are just local addresses, so they don’t really affect your internet traffic. It’s more about how you manage your network rather than the specific IP range you're using.
