I'm trying to decide between the Ryzen 7 5700x and the 5800x, especially since the 5700x3D is way out of my budget—it's almost twice the price of the standard 5700x where I live. Here are my current specs: RTX 3060 (12 GB), Ryzen 5 3600, and 16 GB of RAM (2x8 GB) with two NVMe SSDs, and I'm mostly gaming at 1080p. Any thoughts on which CPU would be a better choice for me?

If you can snag the 5700x for around $140-160, I say go for it! The 5700x and 5800x are essentially the same chip, just with a bit of difference in boost clocks and power limits. With some PBO tuning, your 5700x can perform like a 5800XT. Just a heads up, though: 16 GB of RAM (2x8GB) might not be enough for modern gaming, so consider upgrading to 2x16GB if your budget allows it!

Yeah, but doesn’t the 5700x have a lower power requirement? It runs at just 65 watts.
