Is it worth upgrading from 16GB to 32GB of RAM?

Hey everyone! I'm trying to decide whether I should upgrade my RAM from 16GB at 2933MHz to a set of two 16GB sticks at 3200MHz that I found for around $50. My current motherboard, the ASUS PRIME H4Q0M-E, only supports up to 2933MHz, so I won't be able to fully utilize the speed of the new RAM. I'm a bit stuck on whether this upgrade is actually beneficial, especially since I do video editing and digital art—which can sometimes cause my programs to freeze. How much of a difference is there between 2933MHz and 3200MHz in real-world performance?

Honestly, unless you're doing heavy multitasking or creative work, 32GB might be overkill for gaming. Prices are crazy right now too, so just consider if it's worth it. But hey, if you’re doing a lot of digital art, maybe go for it!

I play games but do a lot of digital work too. Didn't realize RAM prices shot up until recently! I'm leaning towards getting it for the price.

Before you make the jump, ask yourself if you're really feeling the need for more capacity. If your current usage doesn’t max out your RAM, then upgrading might not bring much benefit.

For video editing and digital art, I do hit limits sometimes. Those apps freeze on me occasionally.

I get what you're saying. If you’re in a creative field, investing in more RAM can make a noticeable difference in performance, especially with video editing. Even though you can only run at 2933MHz, you’ll still see a decent boost!

Totally, I just need something to help with the lag I’m experiencing with certain programs.
