Is It Worth Upgrading from a 3060 to a 5070 or 9070 XT?

I'm considering an upgrade from my RTX 3060 as I've just gotten into gaming at 1440p. My current setup includes an AMD 5700x3d, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a B450 Tomahawk motherboard, along with a 2TB SSD. I'm a bit hesitant about switching from Nvidia to AMD due to concerns over software and driver issues. I've found a Zotac 5070 for $500 and an ASRock 9070 XT for $600. What do people think? Which one should I go for?

Honestly, the extra $100 for the 9070 XT is totally worth it. With 16GB of VRAM, it's a solid upgrade for 1440p gaming and will give you much better performance.

Absolutely! That's what I've been saying too.

Both cards are decent, but I’d lean toward the 9070 XT. The 5070 is a great deal, especially with DLSS and MFG, but it has only 12GB of VRAM. The 9070 XT gives you about 23% more performance for a bit more cash and 16GB of VRAM. Despite some concerns about AMD's FSR4, it's gonna get better support down the line, and the 9070 XT stands strong on its own.

I made the jump from a 3060 Ti to a 5070 TUF, and it’s been fantastic. Running games at max quality in 1440p has been a breeze with the same X3D processor you have! No bottlenecks here.

Without a doubt, go for the 9070 XT. It's just a better card overall, especially for the price.

For sure the 9070 XT! It's a slight upgrade over the 5070 Ti, so you’re really getting a 5080 lite for just $600. Definitely worth it.

I run a 5800x3d with 32GB of RAM and a 9070 XT, and it handles 1440p gaming really well. I'm getting super high frames in games like Arma Reforger and Battlefield 6, plus solid 4K performance. You won't regret the 9070 XT!
