Is it Worth Upgrading from a 3070 Ti to a 5070?

I use a 5070 for 4K gaming, and it works pretty well for me. You can max out some settings, but for heavy workloads or enthusiast levels, you'll need top-tier hardware. At 1440p, this card really shines, often hitting 120 FPS with optimized settings. I recently played Cyberpunk at max settings with DLSS quality and managed around 30 FPS, so it's definitely a strong choice!

If you want a 5070, go for it! It’s a fantastic performer for 1440p. I've even pulled off some respectable gaming at 4K with it. Just keep in mind that upgrading your CPU is also important for maximizing your setup's potential.

Honestly, jumping from one VRAM-limited GPU to another might not be the best move. Games are becoming more VRAM-hungry, and 8GB is already not enough for 2025, even at 1080p. In a couple of years, 12GB will struggle too. If you're looking for an upgrade, consider the 5070 Ti instead, which has better overall specs, or the RX 9070 if you're on a tight budget, both offering longevity with 16GB of VRAM.

12GB of VRAM is fine for most games at 1440p right now, but I doubt it will hold up in two years. Plus, your CPU is likely bottlenecking your performance—when I had a similar setup with an i9-11900K, I noticed it throttled my 4070 Ti. Upgrading to a new CPU and DDR5 RAM would definitely improve your performance.

If you're gaming at 1080p, the 5070 should be a solid choice. However, for 1440p, you might start having some trouble maxing out the settings on certain games. Lowering settings could help in the future, but it's hard to say how much performance you might lose over time as games become more demanding.
