Is it worth upgrading from an i3-12100F to an i5-12400F?

I'm currently using an i3-12100F paired with a GeForce RTX 3060 12GB OC and an Asus PRIME B660M-A motherboard. My power supply is 600W, and I've noticed in some CPU-intensive games like Battlefield 6 beta that I'm hitting over 90% CPU usage while my GPU hovers around 60%. I feel like I'm facing a bottleneck here. Additionally, having other applications open, like a web browser, noticeably impacts performance. Would upgrading to an i5-12400F solve these issues?

The 12400F is a great upgrade choice for gaming. If you're focused on playing newer titles, you'll likely see improved performance compared to your current setup.

If you're looking for something a bit more future-proof, I recommend the i5-13400F. It's a solid choice that will last longer in demanding games. The 12400F is decent, but you might find it struggling with titles like Battlefield 6.

What's your upgrading budget like? If you can swing it, consider the i5-14600K. That's a more powerful option, and if you're worried about power, a 600W PSU should still handle it. Just keep in mind that the latest 13th and 14th generation CPUs have some reported issues, so do some research before you buy!

Another option might be jumping straight to the i5-14400 or even the i5-14600 if your budget allows. They would give you a significant performance boost!

Upgrading to the i5-12400F would definitely help, especially since it has more cores. Modern AAA games tend to benefit from the extra power, so it should alleviate some of that CPU bottleneck you're seeing.
