I'm considering upgrading my CPU from an i5-13600k to an i7-14700k. I mainly game at 1440p with a 144Hz refresh rate and do some video editing on the side. I also plan to get an RTX 5070 soon. Would the i7-14700k provide significant performance benefits for my needs compared to the i5-13600k?

Since you're getting an RTX 5070 soon, it could make sense to upgrade to the i7 if you plan on doing more intensive tasks like video editing. Just keep in mind that the gaming improvements at 1440p might not justify the cost for everyone.
Honestly, I don't think you'll notice much of a difference for gaming, especially at 1440p. The i5-13600k is a solid performer, and for many games, it holds up really well. If you're mainly gaming, it may not be worth the upgrade right now.
The value of the upgrade really hinges on the price you're paying for the i7. If it's only $130 for the i7-14700k, that could be a good deal. But remember, for your gaming needs at 1440p, the performance boost might not be huge.
