Hey everyone, I'm considering an upgrade from my Intel i7 13700K to the AMD 9800X3D. I currently have an RTX 4080 as my GPU, and I've been struggling with significant differences between my average FPS and my 1% lows. I'd love to know if this upgrade will give me any real benefits, especially in gaming performance. Thanks in advance!

It really depends on what games you're playing and your resolution. If you're gaming at 4K with max settings, the difference between the 13700K and 9800X3D might not be super noticeable. 1% lows and average FPS can vary a lot at higher settings, so just keep that in mind.
Upgrading to the 9800X3D can definitely be worth it, especially if you're playing CPU-intensive games. I've got an RTX 4080 as well, and after making this upgrade, I've noticed way less stuttering and reduced power consumption. The performance boost has been huge for me! If you can afford it, I’d say go for it.
That makes sense! It seems like maxing out settings could reduce the performance gap. Would lowering settings help? That’s kind of confusing!
