Is it worth upgrading from RTX 4060 to RX 7800 XT for better VRAM?

Hey everyone! I'm considering an upgrade from my RTX 4060 to the RX 7800 XT. The main issue I have is that the 8 GB of VRAM on the 4060 isn't cutting it for most modern games, especially with poor optimization. I'm not looking for anything extreme like 1440p gaming; I just want something that handles native 1080p better with more VRAM. Do you think this upgrade is a good idea?

Absolutely, upgrading to the 7800 XT is a solid choice! With 16GB of VRAM, it offers great performance, especially for 1080p gaming.

I say go for the 7800 XT! It’ll handle 1080p gaming really well for a long time. Sure, it might seem a bit overkill, but you won't need to upgrade for a while. While 8GB is decent for most games right now, newer releases are definitely demanding more VRAM. Even some games that typically run well are becoming more resource-heavy; like Marvel Rivals can be pretty tough on the 4060.

That's what I've noticed too! I've got a Ryzen 5 5600 and I was aiming for around 200 fps at 1080p, but it feels tough sometimes. I guess with an upgrade, I'd see a better performance for a good while.

If your main goal is 1080p gaming, you might want to consider a GPU with 16GB VRAM like the 7600 XT instead. Plus, focusing on getting a better CPU could also boost your performance substantially.
