Hey everyone! I'm contemplating a GPU upgrade from my current Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6600 XT to an XFX Speedster SWFT210 RX 7800 XT. My budget is really tight, but I have a trade-in offer for my 6600 XT at $155, which brings the 7800 XT's price down to $258. I mostly play story-driven games at 1440p and want to maintain high settings with a smooth 60+ FPS. With future games using Unreal Engine 5 potentially lacking optimization, how future-proof do you all think the 7800 XT is over the next 2–3 years? Also, even though the 7800 XT doesn't support FSR 4.0, it does support FSR 3.1. Will that be enough to enhance performance? Lastly, any thoughts on the XFX Speedster SWFT210 model in terms of cooling, noise, and overall performance? Here are my system specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-12700F, Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B660-A GAMING WIFI, RAM: 32GB DDR5-5200 MHz, PSU: Corsair 750W, Case: be quiet! Pure Base 500, Monitor: 1440p 170Hz. Thanks for the help!

I think upgrading to the 7800 XT is a good move, especially if you can snag it for under $260. While FSR 4.0 might not be on the table for the 7800 XT, FSR 3.1 should still help with performance. Just keep in mind that future titles could demand more VRAM, but for 1440p and maintaining high settings, you should be well off with the 7800 XT for the next few years. It's a solid choice if you're planning to game on those upcoming titles!
Thanks for the insight, Techie! That definitely eases my worries about VRAM for now. Will just have to keep an eye on how future games perform.
