Hey everyone! I've got this old PC from the 2000s with a 3.0GHz processor. The main issues are the HDD and the outdated DDR2 RAM, which I only have 2GB of. I came across a 128GB SSD for about 10-15€ online and found 4GB DDR2 RAM sticks for 5€ each at a local store. However, I've heard the RAM can heat up pretty quickly. Should I invest in these upgrades, or do you think it would be better to buy a new machine? I mainly use it for playing music and browsing the web—but I don't want to waste the potential of the CPU!

Honestly, I’d think twice about investing in an upgrade. Your PC is pretty outdated, and while the processor might be decent for older software, it doesn't really handle modern browsing well. I'd consider saving up for a mini PC instead; they'll be significantly faster and more efficient. Plus, you won't be stuck with an old machine that might struggle just to perform basic tasks.
That mini PC does look tempting! I'm trying to pitch it to my dad to help him understand the benefits of switching.
