I'm currently using 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and my game (Battlefield 2042) is performing poorly, almost like it's running on low settings. The recommended specs say 12GB of RAM. I'm considering bumping it up to 32GB, but I'm not sure if getting one additional 16GB stick in single channel mode is a good idea or if I should look for something better.

It sounds like you might be running out of VRAM. I only have 8GB in my setup and can experience similar issues, so that's something to check out.
We need more details about your setup! What GPU and CPU are you running? If you're playing at a high resolution with a weaker GPU, that could be the main issue. It's often a combo of factors.
Could your internet speed be a bottleneck here? Sometimes, lagging could come from connection issues rather than hardware limitations.
Increasing your RAM might not necessarily improve the graphics quality in the game. If you're struggling with game performance, it could be more about your GPU or other components rather than just the RAM.
That's true. But I had a stick of RAM fail recently and had to downgrade back to 16GB. Everything feels a bit sluggish now, so upgrading to 32GB could help overall.
I've been using 32GB since the DDR3 days without any issues. However, just increasing RAM might not solve the graphics problem you’re facing.

I figured out it was just a v-sync setting that was capped at 60fps. I turned it off and now I'm hitting 200fps, and the game looks a lot better!
