Is It Worth Upgrading My RAM to 32GB?

I'm thinking of upgrading my old DDR4 setup and recently scored a great deal on a new 5700X3D processor and a 5070 TI graphics card. I'm currently using 16GB of 3600MHz RAM, and I'm debating whether I should upgrade to 32GB while it's still available. With DDR5 prices skyrocketing, I'm concerned that DDR4 might become less accessible soon. What do you all think?

Whether you need 32GB depends on your gaming habits. If you're playing demanding games, it might be worth it. I’d recommend aiming for DDR5 once prices drop again, as DDR6 is still a ways off. You can also check out some sites like AliExpress—there’s usually a decent supply of affordable DDR4 available there.

I was considering a similar upgrade! What did you upgrade your CPU from? I'm on a 5800X and really want to find an X3D variant to see some performance gains.

I’d say go for it! The 5700X3D is going to be a solid choice for the next couple of years. After that, you can think about switching to AM5 or other future upgrades when prices stabilize again.

Honestly, it’s probably a smart move given the current RAM prices. It’s likely to keep rising, so upgrading now could save you money later.

Upgrading to 32GB is definitely a good idea! If the price isn't too high, don’t hesitate. I’m holding onto my AM4 system too; I feel like it’s unnecessary to jump to AM5 just to be outdated again in a few years. Just the other week, I was playing Hogwarts Legacy and noticed it was using over 20GB of RAM!
