I've been using my Ryzen 7 3700X for about 5 years now and I'm considering upgrading to a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. The price for a used 5700X3D in my area is €300, and I'll also need to buy a cooler for another €50. Here are my current specs: I'm running an AMD RX 7700 XT, 32GB of 3600MHz RAM, and I have a 750W PSU. I game on a 1080p monitor. My current system performs reasonably well, but I'm looking for a 30-40 fps boost in my games. I've thought about moving to AM5, but with RAM prices as they are and the cost of a new CPU at around €350, it doesn't feel like a practical option right now. What do you think I should do?

Honestly, if you're aiming for better performance, upgrading your GPU could be more beneficial, especially if you might game at higher resolutions in the future. Look for GPUs like the 9070 or 9070XT as they could give you a good performance boost as well, and they might get pricier later on.

I get what you're saying, but I feel like my CPU is what's holding me back right now. Since I'm only using a 1080p monitor, doesn't that change things?

Since you're considering a used 5700X3D, keep in mind that there's no warranty with it. If your current setup is running fine, it might be worth saving your money instead. Since you're gaming at 1080p, upgrading your monitor could also be a smarter move before you dive into a CPU upgrade.
