I'm currently using an AM4 setup with a Ryzen 5600X and have two 8GB sticks of DDR4 RAM, totaling 16GB. This amount seems to suffice for all the games I play, along with my 9070XT GPU. However, I'm considering grabbing 2 additional 16GB sticks soon because I've heard that RAM prices might increase soon and I'm worried about availability in the future. That said, I've hesitated because I feel like the AM4 platform is nearing its end and I would prefer to wait for DDR5 upgrades later on. So, is 32GB really necessary for gaming right now?

I wouldn’t rush to upgrade just for the sake of DDR5 coming out. It might not be necessary for your current needs.
Consider checking the timing and speed of your current RAM, and try to match it with a used set if you want to expand. Personally, I usually recommend building systems with 32GB for future-proofing.
If you notice any performance issues or find that you’re running low on RAM during your gaming sessions, it’s a good idea to upgrade. If that’s not the case, you might not need to. Just keep in mind that DDR4 prices have shot up recently, which might affect your budget.
